This summer, Root Capital staff from Managua to Kampala packed their bags and headed to Cambridge, Massachusetts for a global retreat. With all 130+ of our colleagues, including 23 from Africa and 56 from Latin America and Haiti, we buckled down for an intense week of workshops, trainings, priority setting — and, of course, some serious team bonding.
Together as a global team for the first time in four years, we took the opportunity to celebrate key wins and milestones while also diving deep into challenges confronting our 15-year-old social enterprise.
We asked ourselves hard-hitting questions. We workshopped ideas for systems improvements. We co-designed new processes. We put ourselves in our colleagues' shoes, learning the challenges inherent in the different roles across the organization.
And, reconnecting with colleagues we haven't seen in some time and learning the faces and names of those we hadn't met before, we left feeling more aligned and refreshed than ever.
Here are a few photos of highlights from the week. Enjoy!
